Class Descriptions (All classes use Christian music.)
9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
8-12 yr olds - Modern/Cami

Basic Modern warm up with dance combinations utilizing Modern
technique strengthening both dance and body vocabulary.
Beginner/Intermediate - Ballet/Domini
Short ballet barre with review of basic technique, and proper execution of turns, jumps and direction/positions. Ballet worship combination will be learned Attention will be paid to making dance graceful and worshipful.
Intermediate/Advance - Jazz/Derek
Intermediate/Adv jazz warmup with more advance jazz
combinations. Specific movement challenges will be addressed.
10:45 - 11:45 a.m.
8-12 yr olds - Ballet/Domini
Correct ballet walk, posture, porte bra, jumps, leaps and three
ballet turn techniques will be explored. Worship ballet combination
taught for expanding on.
Beginner/Intermediate - Jazz/Hip Hop/Derek
This most popular offering is stylized Hip Hop to Christian music. Acceptable movements for Christian venues are exclusively used.
Intermediate/Advance - Modern/Cami
Some slow and basic Modern movement will begin this class,
followed by more advance modern combinations. Students are
expected to have a working knowledge of modern technique.
(Changing levels, turns, contractions, etc.)
12:30-1:30 p.m.
8-12 yr olds - Hip Hop/Derek

This popular dance style is geared for younger less experienced 

dancers taught to Christian music, with acceptable movments for Christian venues.
Beginner/Intermediate - Modern/Cami
Basic modern technique class to worship music for beginning level dancers
Advanced - Ballet/Domini
A fast paced advanced ballet class incorporating ballet technique with a worshipful approach to some of the most popular Christian musical artists of today.
1:45 - 2:45 p.m.
8-12 r olds - Jazz/Cami
Basic jazz stretches and warm up with fun combinations to lively
Christian music.
All Levels - Worship Dance/Domini
An outline for a new worship dance will be taught with instructions 
for developing it as a solo, duet, or group piece
Site-Specific Choreography/Derek
Exploration of presenting dance for and in specific venues.
Adaptation techniques will be offered.
3:00 - 4:00 Electives
Dancing Prayers/Cami
Students divide into groups and are guided through a prayer
activity in dance. Often times there are spiritual breakthroughs
since intercession is a feature in this deep prayer experience.
Choreography/Domini

A quick review of basic choreography elements will be covered and specific choreographic challenges will be addressed. Tips for
making dances more worshipful and meaningful will be presented.
Hip Hop (Intermediate/Advance)/Derek
Many students have requested Derek's Hip Hop classes. His
special dramatic focus is a strong Christian witness.
4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Bible & Sharing/Ministry (All)

This special time is open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. For those who have known the Capps during their years of ministry in the States will enjoy receiving an update of their journey in a foreign country (Hong Kong and China). There is the deliverance ministry Cami may share and the Bible teaching from Derek. Questions and answer time may be requested by the conference attendees also.
What to Bring: Bible, modest dancewear, proper dance shoes, sneakers for hip hop, need cover up sweaters and leg warmers or sweats, (building gets cool), water, no colored drinks. NO spaghetti strap leotards without cover. Note: In order to protect minors in the class, no photos or video will be allowed during any of the sessions.
July Fees: Mail-in registration before July 14th: $60 - After July 14th and at door: $65

“Intimacy as the Basis of Petition”
Using Queen Esther as a model, the class will focus on dancing prayers based on intimacy of fellowship w/ the King. (Peters)
“Dancing into the Tabernacles”
A Biblical look at the Tabernacles and then movement dancing through the Tabernacles.

“Where is the God of Elijah?”
Teaching on the mentorship between Elijah and Elisha & their looking for the fire of God (Peters)
“Worshippers as the Gatekeepers”
How we fulfill our call to watch and pray through movement (Hardy)
“Teaching Young Children Worship Dance”
Lecture/Panel/Quest&Ans with movement illustrations. Using basic dance elements to introduce worship, methods for transferring dance technique to worship & monitoring children, more.
“Choreography based on Creation”
Using God’s principles to create dances (Peters).
“Choreographic Clinic”
Receive constructive critique of your dance. You must sign up in advance for this (Peters).
"Dancing with a Purpose"
Exploring the significance of sacred dance in a dying world, this class challenges students to redefine their reasons for dancing. Students will engage in the process of making dances that respond to and interact with the world. (Anderson)
"Children's classes"
4-5 year olds and 6-8 year olds. See below for fuller descriptions.
"Mime" (A class for youth (9-11 yrs old) and one for teens and adults)
Shekanah Solomon offers basic mime technique for interpreting worship songs and choreography you can take with you. Attention will also be made to the presentation of mime in worship services.

"Creative Worship Dance for 4-5 year olds", "Creative Worship Dance for 6-8 year olds"
Children experience basic dance elements, both locomotive and non-locomotive, in the context of worship. Along with the emphasis on worship the children are encouraged to develop skills within the framework of their own individual creative possibilities through the guidance of the teacher.
6-8 year olds - in addition to the approach above, pre-ballet elements are introduced.

"Visual Worship"
Children create with visual medium their expressions of God's attributes. (Heather Frazier)

Children act out a Biblical story through drama. Children get to dress up with Biblical 
fabrics and costumes.

"Prophetic Dance"
The prophetic refers to the voice of God. Pamela Hardy teaches what prophetic dance is and isn't and provides a comfortable environments for participants to try it.
"Moving Scripture, Heart, Spirit"
Ronya Lee Anderson uses scripture to provide a catalyst for students to discover their 







worship dance potential and the power of God in their own dance.
"Messianic", Beginner, Intermediate, and Advance
Linda Liegel shares her rich knowledge of her own heritage with authentic Hebrew dance of worship.
"Dancing in the Psalms"
Explore the practice of movement as prayer using the Psalms with Ronya-Lee Anderson. Ripe with words of hope and despair, joy and pain, the Psalms offer us a gateway to effective prayer. In this class students will engage in brief theological study of a particular Psalm and then translate the Psalm into movement individually and corporately.
"Where is the God of Elijah"
This is a spiritual teaching with Yvonne Peters (no movement) based on the mentorship between Elijah and Elisha and their travels together looking for the increase and the fire of God.
"Choreography Based on Creation"
This is a class on choreography (creating dances) based on the principles of creation that God used in Genesis It is taught by the choreographer of the Feast of Tabernacle in Israel,Yvonne Peters.
"Worship Repertoire" - (Beginner, Intermediate, Advance)
Repertoire refers to a dance piece. For the upcoming conference, various faculty present choreography in specific sessions which can be adapted for your own use as worship repertoire.
"Silks and Flags"
Pam Yarborough teaches the many ways to billow silks plus many different choreographic ideas for the use of silks and flags in worship pieces plus the significance of the colors.

"Hip Hop" (To contemporary Christian music) Beginner, Intermediate, Advance
Alli Rogosich teaches modest moves to popular Christian wrap.
"Lyrical Repertoire and Ballet Repertoire"(Dances) - Intermediate, Advance
Barbara Messina offers challenging movement to Contemporary Christian music.
"African" - Beginner, Intermediate/Advance
Ronya-Lee Anderson, former member of the world-famous Chuck Dance African Dance Ensemble, presents this class in two levels of authentic African movement.
"Teaching Young Children Worship Dance"
A new class this year taught by Domini Boling in response to several requests. There will be teaching and some demonstration. Monitoring techniques will be discussed and there will be a question and answering period.
"Principles of Choreography"
Pamela Hardy offers diverse ways to use basic elements of choreography in worship dance
"Dancing with a Purpose"
Ronya-Lee Anderson invites advance students and worship dance leaders to join her in exploring the significance of sacred dance in a dying world, this class challenges students to redefine their reasons for dancing. Students will engage in the process of making dances that respond to and interact with the world.
"Choreography Clinic"
Yvonne Peters offers constructive loving critique to your choreography. Students are required to sign up in advance for this session since the limitation of the alloted class time will determine how many dances can be presented by the participants. Dance Teams and solo dancers should bring their music and be prepared to present their dance.
"Leadership Forum"
This is a class for leaders. Everything from helpful hints for starting a worship dance team to the challenge of dealing with church leadership is addressed. This year we will receive input from Salvatore Messina, Pamela Hardy and Pamela Yarborough.

Fees: Before Feb. 27th - Fri and Sat $80/ Sat only $50
After Feb 27th - Fri and Sat $90 ($10 late fee) and Sat only $60 (10 late fee)
Members of host churches, St. Francis UMC and White Plains UMC receive a 40% discount on
all registration fees.

How to register: Participants register and sign up for classes online. Fees can be paid in two methods, mail-in or by paypal. Go to registration page. Note: unregistered guests must have permision to observe sessions. Teachers/dance team leaders will be charged regular fee to observe. No photos or videos are permitted during the sessions to protect minors.
Friday Worship Dance Concert: The Friday worship/concert event is the official kick-off of the conference and is presented by registrants who have aplied to minister for the evening. It is open to the public and free of charge. This unique event provides, in one venue, various styles of worship and liturgical dance as a coherent worship experience. The attendees witness a sense of community during this time of sharing; participants have the opportunity to experience the way others minister through movement; and those ministering receive affirmation from other worship participants.
Friday night concert participation: a separate application should be filled out by the leader of the group. The application will be posted on this website.
Children: Ages 4-11 year olds should have a chaperone on premises at all times and coordinate their location with Conference manager.

Be prepared to slip into street clothes over dancewear when moving between classes. NO spaghetti strap leotards without cover. Jubilate Worship Dance Conference

Frequent Jubilate Worship Dance Conference instructor, Ronya-Lee Anderson Thompson, will teach master classes in Modern Dance and Worship. (See below for Descriptions and Schedule) Natarsha Saunders will teach a Hip Hop class to Christian music. Afternoon general session will include devotions and free worship. The one day event will culminate with a Public Benefit Worship Dance Concert of Christian dance teams from around the Southeast! Love offerings will be given for Wheresoever Ministries & Clubs in the City of Cary and Raleigh, NC
Mini-Worship Dance Conference
Come experience the invisible made visible. Scriptures invite us to turn out daily lives into a life of praise. Dancing in worship and praise to Jesus Christ can be freeing. All are welcomed to join the community of worshipers who "praise the Lord with dancing!" (Ps 149:3)
Ages 10 and up are welcomed to register for as many or as few of classes being offered. The classes are master classes and will offer something for all levels. If you attend at least one of the classes you may attend the general session. Concert participants do not have to take classes but must attend the General Session. Note that the classes are held at a different location from the church. The Chavis Community Center is near the church. Go to the registration page to register. There is no deadline, but space is limited, so we expect to fill most of the classes. To apply to participate in concert go to application.

This session will provide simple to intermediate combinations of modern dance exercises and movement which can be incorporated into the dancers' worship repertoire.
10:40 - 11:30 a.m. Hip Hop (Natarsha)
This popular style of dance is adapted to Christian music with appropriate movements. Natarsha is great with young dancers!
11:40 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Moving Worship, Heart, Spirit (Ronya-Lee)
Ronya will help the students explore their worship dance potential with the Word. It is always exciting to see what the Spirit creates in these classes.

Come and experience this 2 day Jubilate Worship Dance Conference!
Students will receive dance technique, meaningful worship dance sessions, and experience opportunities to explore worshiping with streamers, tambourines, flags and silks.
Dynamic teaching sessions offer indepth study on relevent current information for furthering your dance ministry; from a serious examination of praise garments, to an understanding about the qualities of good leadership, and how to make a difference with your dance, to a look at how dance ministers on the mission field!
AND, for the first time at Jubilate Worship Dance Conference, you will have an opportunity to explore dance, worship and ministry from other countries! There will be sessions led by selected faculty members who desire to share their dances from other countries and how Christianity and missions have influenced their people groups!
Then we will join together in a culminating dancing worship event, open to the public, celebrating the many cultures that make up the body of Christ worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ who makes us one body in spirit and truth!
